“I hadn’t specifically been looking for an apprenticeship, but mostly because I didn’t know about them. At school they didn’t mention apprenticeships.
We ’re trying to get them to change this. Academically it’s helped me quite a lot. My confidence is way up, I wouldn’t have been able to do presentations like I do in this job without the right grounding and practice.
I’d recommend doing an apprenticeship. It’s a step between having your first real job and being at school. You need that period of time where you’re still learning and transferring the skills you learn at school into real world talents.
My apprenticeship has helped me to secure a place to study Art History at Bath Spa University and I hope to go on to specialise in curatorship.”
