The rise of the apprentice

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Bath College Principal Matt Atkinson spoke about the future of apprenticeships: “There is no doubt that we are experiencing a renaissance in apprenticeships.

“With ambitious government targets, better advice being given to young people, and employers more willing to use the apprenticeship route to build their workforce, I really believe that we are seeing the rise of the apprentice.

“Apprenticeships are now an excellent route into good careers, giving ambitious and career-minded individuals an opportunity to learn and develop whilst earning a wage and developing the skills employers actually want. “I know that when my 11-year-old is starting to think about her career journey I will have no hesitation in encouraging her to consider the apprenticeship pathway.”
